For over 55 years between them, Kim and Jay Bartlett have created a niche in the Jewellery industry with their quality workmanship and professional designs.

Kim Bartlett completed his Jewellery apprenticeship with one of Melbourne's leading Manufacturing Jewellers, Max Hurwitz Pty. Ltd., under the watchful eye of well respected Italian Master Jeweller Mr. Enzo Stella.
Upon finishing his 6 year apprenticeship (which consisted of one year of diamond setting, four years of jewellery manufacturing, and one year of designing) Kim was lured to Townsville by one of the largest and most successful Jewellery stores of that time - Horn & Peterson and Diamond Design. The store engaged him primarily in designing and hand making quality jewellery for their customers. Not long after arriving in Townsville the Townsville Bulletin described him as "A young man rapidly making a name for himself as a designer of fine jewellery". After spending many years with the company, and eventually becoming a partner in the store, Kim decided to branch out and once again offer customers individual, high quality, hand made pieces of jewellery. It was then that he established Kim Bartlett Master Jewellers.

In 1993 Jay Bartlett joined Kim Bartlett Master Jewellers, and his father, in the Jewellery industry.
Jay's introduction to the industry began when he was a young child, looking over his father's shoulder, watching him design and manufacture pieces of jewellery for his valued customers. From there it was a natural progression for him to follow in his father's footsteps and continue the tradition and craftsmanship of a Master Jeweller.
He completed his apprenticeship in both Townsville and Brisbane under the guidance of some of Australia's most highly regarded Manufacturing Jewellers. Since becoming a qualified Jeweller, Jay has travelled and worked extensively throughout the United Kingdom and Europe, gaining valuable skills and a taste for the European Jewellery fashions.
Jay is a fully qualified Gemmologist. He is a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Australia and has been a member of the Association since 2003. In 2006 he was awarded a Certificate IV in Gemmological Studies.
He has also completed his Certificate in Diamond Grading with the Gemmological Association of Australia under the instruction of Bill Sechos who has over 25 years experience and is considered to be one of Australia's leading diamond experts.
In 2007 he was qualified as a registered Valuer, and is a current member of the National Council of Jewellery Valuers (NCJV).
After demonstrating a high proficiency as a professional Gold & Silversmith in 2008 Jay was invited to become a member of the Gold and Silversmiths Guild of Australia.
In 2009 Jay was successful in achieving an accredited Diploma in Gemmological Studies.This is a highly-regarded qualification within the jewellery industry and was awarded to Jay after years of dedication towards his studies and an intense examination process.
Jay has become one of only five people in Queensland, and the only person outside of south-east Queensland to have achieved this title.
