How should I clean my jewellery?
Diamonds need care to keep them at their brilliant best. A clean diamond reflects light better than one that has been dulled by skin oils, soap, cosmetics and grease. So it is important to clean your diamonds regularly. Your jeweller is the best person to do this, and the setting can be checked at the same time.
It is advisable to take your jewellery for a professional clean and polish every year.
However, in between visits to the jeweller it is easy to clean your jewellery yourself.
The Soapy Water Bath
In a small bowl of lukewarm water and a mild detergent or soap, brush each piece of jewellery with a soft toothbrush, and rinse in warm water.
Dry with a soft lint-free cloth.
The Quick Dip Method
Purchase any brand of liquid jewellery cleaner and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
We recommend using the CONNOISSEURS® brand of Jewellery Cleaner.
Polishing Cloths
The ultra soft CONNOISSEURS® brand cloths are made of thick, gentle, natural cotton – and have the power of the most modern cleansing techniques.
Each polishing cloth consists of two layers: one cleans and the other polishes.
Not only is dirt quickly removed, but an invisible barrier is also applied to help prevent new tarnish from forming.
