CBD success crafts online vision for local jeweller

Buoyed by record trade at its new inner-city store, custom jewellery designer and manufacturer Kim Bartlett Master Jewellers believes online retailing will figure heavily in its next phase of growth.
The second-generation family business, which relocated to Denham Street in July, has launched an online jewellery store to better serve clients living throughout Australia and around the world.
The new e-commerce site showcases a range of unique jewellery by Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen, a luxury brand that the 38-year-old Townsville business holds the exclusive rights to in Queensland and also displays in-store.
Co-owner Jay Bartlett, who works alongside father and company founder Kim, said the success of the new CBD store had propelled the online expansion.
“We’ve been operating in our new store since late July and it was the best move we could have ever made for our business and especially for our customers,” Jay Bartlett said.
“Not only did our existing clients follow us to the city, but we’ve attracted a new wave of customers who value our unique offerings and products.
“Looking to the future, we knew that our products and services had to be visible online if we wanted to continue servicing our customers located outside of the Townsville region.”
The online store is hosted on the company’s website (www.masterjewellers.com.au), which was revamped to coincide with the opening of the new Denham Street design studio.
“Now that the site is up and running our next goal is to start adding our store-designed and handcrafted jewellery to create a full service offering,” he said.
“In saying that, the e-commerce site will complement our products and services rather than replace the close client relationships we’ve built in-store over many years.”
